Our School Garden

Work has continued on our school garden and grounds.  During the Easter holidays there was a great deal of tidying up carried out.  Garden beds were cleared and wood chips put down on the paths around the garden area.

Rosie from Roots and Fruits works with groups of children every fortnight and we have just recently planted potatoes, pumpkins and sunflowers.  We made scarecrows to keep the birds away.

There are now runner beans, sunflowers, fruit trees and an abundance of beautiful and sweet smelling plants and flowers in the garden.

In May lots of children and their parents came to the school for a Saturday garden tidy.  Everybody worked really hard.

Everybody at Whitecraig is extremely proud of our garden and a group of chidlren attended the ‘Roots and Fruits’ AGM to share what we have been doing.
