We woke up to a thick blanket of snow on the ground this morning and some large flakes falling from the sky throughout breakfast! After our morning chores and dorm inspections it was time to find out about our activities for today. There had to be some changes due to the unexpected amount of snow through the night but we still managed to fit in some Gorge Walking, Ropes Course, Orienteering and Forest Walking. We got on our waterproofs, wellie boots, hats, scarves and gloves before heading out for the morning.
We were all glad of some hot soup and a shower at lunchtime to warm up before heading back into our waterproofs for some more adventures in the afternoon. Some of the groups enjoyed a hot chocolate during their forest walk which they had brewed up on a fire that they had built and lit by themselves which was very exciting. Mrs Idle was delighted to tick off one of the Top 15 Places to See in Scotland with her visit to Puck’s Glen today. Sadly the snow began to turn to rain later in the afternoon but we are hoping that the snowmen we built in the gardens may survive a bit longer.
This evening we spent some time writing up our daily diary and then there was great excitement as the tuck shop opened for the first time this trip! The evening finished up with a quiz around the centre along with Yester Primary who are here with us at the moment.
Looking forward to some new adventures tomorrow and watching the weather carefully. Luckily Mrs Wilson managed to get some of our wet clothes in the large tumble dryers tonight and our waterproofs are hanging up in the drying rooms so we should be ready to go again!
