This week we had a very special guest in our classroom. The First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon, came to visit with education ministers from around the world. We spoke to the First Minister about Making Thinking Visible. Miss McKay is teaching us about all the different routines to make us deeper thinkers. We told her all about Colour, Symbol, Image which is a routine we used to help us organise our thoughts about our class novel. She was really impressed and told us that she often thinks of the days of the week having different colours. She explained she sees Monday as red and we all thought it was because Monday’s can be really hard after the weekend. It was a really exciting day here at Windygoul and we felt very proud of our school.
We have been continuing to develop our learning in PE using invasion games. In Music, we have learned more about Big Band and Swing music and also had fun listening to Elvis Prestley when learning about Rock n’ Roll. In Writing we have been focusing on Writer’s Craft and letting our imaginations run wild. We also have two new JRSO’s (Junior Road Safety Officers). The two people chosen from our class for showing commitment and excellent interview skills were Annie and Gemma. They are looking forward to taking on their new role.
Another busy and exciting week in P6C and we are looking forward to the learning coming our way next week!
