Wednesday the 3rd of December 2014 P6 went to the Rugby Festival on the Ross High field. They learned about how to play Rugby and they played games of Rugby like Shark’s and Fishes. Which is a game like British Bulldog’s. We had lot’s of fun at the Rugby Festival we really enjoyed it. 😀
Grand Opening
Windygoul Pupil Council and children from The Owls Nursery group were honoured to be asked to cut the ribbon on Thursday 23rd October on the newly upgraded and extended Co-op Store next to the school. A big thank you to the staff who made us feel so important and for the goodies we returned to school with! The sweeties have made their way to the Halloween Disco and the hamper is being used as a fund raiser within the school. We are looking forward to building on our strong Community Links.

P1 and P7 Read’a’thon
Today P1c and P7b got together to share their favourite books. They spent some time reading to each other and discussing the reasons for their choices and why they liked the characters. Here are some comments from the children about the activity:
Olivia P1c said “I like Sleeping Beauty, it was written by Brothers Grimm.”
Caitlin P7b said “I was impressed with the P1 costumes, they were very creative.”
Craig P1c said “I made a model of Topsy and Tim at the swimming pool. It was fun to make.”
Sam P7b said “I liked the story of ‘The Gruffalo’s Child’ it was the best P1 story!”

Fundraising Fiver
P7a/b were given the challenge of setting up their own business using an initial £5 investment. Pupils have been working hard over the term to make as much profit as possible. Some businesses included candle making, car washing, bake sale, odd jobs and refreshments at football games.
Together we raised £1018 profit; this will go towards the P7 camp in March. A BIG well done to everyone who took part! Our top fundraisers were Danni Lee P7b and Ellie Dalrymple P7a who set up a candle making business and raised over £200. Great work girls…we may see you on junior apprentice soon!

Meadowbank Athletics
On Wednesday 28th May, the rainy weather was unable to dampen the spirits of our P6 and P7 athletics team who performed in the cold and rain in a variety of running, throwing and jumping events. Although there were no individual winners the pupils all tried their best and came back in high spirits having enjoyed taking part in the different events.
