This months activity involved us tidying up tree planting around the car park edge and through Dirleton common. In terrible weather (for hayfever sufferers) we trimmed back vegetation, straightened tree tubes and replaced stakes on around 500 trees.
And it was on the 500th (or so) tree tube that Angus unexpectedly encountered a tree bee colony in the base. Suffice to say we left that one bee (ahem).
Much litter and vegetation clearance was also done along paths throughout the rest of the site.
Sadly it was also Mandy’s last session before she wanders way out west (Mandy asked me to pass on her goodbyes to those that couldn’t make it).
Thanks all for all the hard work.
