October 2018

Pirri digging was the task for the group once again this month as we progress slowly westwards through the dunes. Finding mainly seedless young plants as we go, which is encouraging as we are clearly getting to most of the plants as we do these searches, therefore limiting the potential for seed to be spread.

On a pleasant but blustery day we were treated to finch flocks, pink footed geese, a kestrel…

…and a lovely rainbow…

…over ‘Treasure Island’.

Our treasure is sitting now in bags waiting to be incinerated, before we embark on the next round in a couple of months time.

Thanks to all (including the finder of the mysterious pipe like gall!)
