Today Laura from the RSPB joined us in nursery. She told us how to spot birds using our eyes and our ears. Then we made some bird food to put in our gardens at home.

Today in nursery we celebrated St Andrew’s day. We created Scottish recipes, had a ceilidh in the woods and ate shortbread.

It was a beautiful autumnal day in the woods. We collected lots of different coloured leaves and made some spectacular owls.

To warm ourselves up we drank hot chocolate and ate the tasty cookies Primary 6 made us.

On our way along to the library we discovered some exciting equipment in the gym hall.

We have been reading the story about an enormous turnip. Lots of us had never tried turnip before so we decided to make some soup. We chopped up our vegetables, added a stock cube and water then boiled it.

We have been grinding wheat to make flour and today we made our own bread.

To celebrate Roald Dahl’s 100th birthday we drank the BFG’s favourite drink (with very mixed responses), made our own recipe cakes and this morning our Primary 6 buddies joined us for some muddy fun. We listened to George’s Marvellous Medicine then went in to the woods to make our own marvellous medicine.
In the afternoon we went out in to the rain, we splashed in puddles, sheltered under trees and ate cakes the morning group made for us.

We hope you have enjoyed watching the swallows grow. I think that by the time we come back next week the nest will be empty.

Remember no nursery on Friday or Monday.

Welcome to all our new children and their families and welcome back to everyone else.

We have been looking at how sunflowers grow, been down in the woods, attended assembly, had PE, reading The Enormous Crocodile and enjoying snack.

We are also learning some Signalong signs, you will see these on the display in the cloakroom.
