The workshops include an exploration of how sound works, discussing the senses in relation to music, exploring brain anatomy and how we hear/listen. The workshops will involve ceilidh dance, listening and sharing skills, and teamwork.

 Exploration of science through dance:

  • Exploration of topic
  • Breakdown of concepts into 4 or 5 steps depending on complexity of ideas.
  • Prepare to dance, including warm-ups
  • Creating dance moves, working as a whole class or smaller groups. Can be ceilidh dance, or other dance traditions, or interpretative/freestyle.

Perform the dance to the school /parents , with participants outlining the science behind each step.

Lewis’s workshops have proved the prefect vehicle for a closer understanding of science and biology, alongside a lot of fun, creativity, and the chance to play and listen to live instruments.
