Trumberbone Street Band Success!

The young people of East Lothian’s Trumberbone Street Band came together once again this Feb to play in their very own samba band.

This project has been running for a few years now, and is going from strength to strength. The young people get the opportunity to learn trumpet and/or trombone as well as getting to play some cool grooves on the drums.

They were lucky enough to have a visit from DeLighters Circus Company as well, and took part in a workshop. See below for some photos of this fabulous three day course.

NYCoS Perform at The Brunton Theatre

DSC_0018(2)After 10 weeks of afterschool practices, The National Youth Choir of Scotland (NYCoS) Singing Groups from East Lothian came together to perform at the Brunton on Tuesday 27th and Wednesday 28th March 2018. The NYCoS Singing Groups are supported and funded by the East Lothian Youth Music Initiative (YMI), funding which comes from the Scottish Government, through Creative Scotland. The groups consist of P3-7 schoolchildren from Musselburgh, Prestonpans, Tranent, Haddington, Dunbar and North Berwick.

The NYCoS singing groups meet weekly from October through to March and are open to all East Lothian P3-7 pupils. The singing group sessions are led by trained NYCos Staff and boast a wide variety of games, opportunities to sing and gain practical musical skills. All sessions are free to attend and are not limited by a selection process.
